SONY VEGAS SOFTWARE

Anyone know about the Sony Vegas program? I was wondering if any dumb ass could use it. I aint got much learnin and wanted to know if you need to be Bill Gates to use it. All I know how to do is plug the cord thing in the thingamajig in the wall.

Any dumbass can learn to use any piece of software - you'll never know unless you try. I haven't tried that specific package, but in the last couple months I picked up Photoshop and Pinnacle with no prior experience, with only a couple or hours worth of dicking around in each. There are tutorials all over the internet for any software you can think of probably - makes it much easier.

I must be really stupid, took me 5 hours to figure out how to get the video from my camera. I finally got it but I dont have any sound, Did I do it wrong?

I love Sony Vegas. I found it quite intuitive and lots of nice features, but I wouldn't call it beginner's software though. There are programs like Adobe Premiere Elements which are more geared towards people just starting out to edit video. I hadn't done it either before I started using Vegas, but I do computer stuff for a living and figured it out after a while.

I have used Vegas 4 & 5 and also Sonic DVDA2.

Took me a few hours to work out the basics but can now do a reasonable Video/DVD.

I'm sure there is loads more I could learn to do with it but I'm happy with what i have learnt so far.

If you don't have any prior experience with video editing, it'll probably take you a while to figure things out. Pulling video off the tape is just the start.

I know alot of people who use Pinnacle Studio - yuo might want to check it out. It's very use friendly and does everything most people need in video editing.

Personally, I use Vegas, it's awesome, but it's definitely a higher end editor. Also, you'll need a pretty decent computer to prevent dropped frames.

It has some bugs and some of the features don't always do what you expect them too... However, once you get the nack of it, it is just as good as any of the more expensive stuff out there....

Very cool dude. I would say your editing and choice of music makes it an excellent video. Of course the footage is awesome, but to put it toghether nicely is an artform too!
