Still camera mount-quick release bracket

Recommended Posts

I'm actually really suprised that Bonehead is still selling the Goldmember, or at least for that price. When they put it on the market, there were all the rumours floating around that the stroboframe was being discontinued, leaving the Goldmember the only real option out there. That having not been true, I have no idea why anybody would buy a Goldmember.

Now, if they start calling it the Goldmember Pro, then nobody will think twice about dropping the extra coin. Of course, they would also have to double it's size to make that fly...:S ;)

The Goldmember has a far lower chance of failure (unintentional camera release) and is designed specificaly for the application. That said, I use a 6 cent hex screw to hold my cameras to my helmet.

manfrotto have the best i have seen, and only NZ$60

a mate of mine ended up holding his brand new eos350d and sigma 10-20 lens in his hand during opening due to riser slap!?!?
one of the little traingle bits on hios stroboframe broke and he almost lost thousands. so whats a little more for your quick release when it is your camera you are risking.

the new manfrotto quick relase is chunky yet compact and stays tight no matter how old and worn they get.

A Terry Shumacher prototype ended on top of my Rawa... new generation: mucho slim, ultra light, slick and does the job... slide softly in and out with no need to be called 'gold member'...:ph34r:
I used this for my Video Camera, now for a 10D.

That looks like a pretty nice piece of equipment...hard to get the details with the little I could piece out from the german though...:S It looks like it takes a twisting motion to lock/unlock the plate from the base...might not be able to do that in some set-up's (front mounted still cameras, crowded top mounted video/stills). I love seeing all these different mounting systems coming out...hopefully the competition will help drive the cost down a little on some...:P
