goobersnuftda 0 #1 November 28, 2005 Which quick mount hot plate do you prefer? Stroboframe Goldmember Both exactly the same price of $95. ....if you don't know and are too afraid to ask then YOU are the Goober.....
Canuck 0 #2 November 28, 2005 You can get a stroboframe for WAY less than $95 - like about half. Try an online photo place like B&H. Only Paragear has the audacity to charge $95. Canuck
AndyMan 7 #3 November 28, 2005 There is no reason to pay the excessive fee for the Goldmember. The Stroboframe is much cheaper, and works perfectly well. [edit] You can 'Buy It Now' on Ebay for $49.95. http://search.ebay.com//search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=300-qrc _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. Canuck 0 #7 November 28, 2005 I'm actually really suprised that Bonehead is still selling the Goldmember, or at least for that price. When they put it on the market, there were all the rumours floating around that the stroboframe was being discontinued, leaving the Goldmember the only real option out there. That having not been true, I have no idea why anybody would buy a Goldmember. Now, if they start calling it the Goldmember Pro, then nobody will think twice about dropping the extra coin. Of course, they would also have to double it's size to make that fly... Canuck

diablopilot 2 #9 November 28, 2005 The Goldmember has a far lower chance of failure (unintentional camera release) and is designed specificaly for the application. That said, I use a 6 cent hex screw to hold my cameras to my helmet.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. rhys 0 #10 November 29, 2005 manfrotto have the best i have seen, and only NZ$60 a mate of mine ended up holding his brand new eos350d and sigma 10-20 lens in his hand during opening due to riser slap!?!? one of the little traingle bits on hios stroboframe broke and he almost lost thousands. so whats a little more for your quick release when it is your camera you are risking. the new manfrotto quick relase is chunky yet compact and stays tight no matter how old and worn they get."When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
