Kimblair13 0 #1 December 12, 2005 OK...so I'm kinda in a crunch to find a camcorder...and I know nothing... What's the dif between an HC 21,32,40? I know one person who's owned two 40's and said they've both pissed her off. So...is HC 21 a good enough camera? Out of all the HC's which ones are better? Like, is 21 better than 32 better than 40, or vise versa...or do the higher/lower numbers really not mean anything? Thanks!
Icon134 0 #2 December 12, 2005 From looking through the sony pages the major difference between these three cameras is the CCD imager... The higher numbered sony camera the higher the resolution. 21 - 340k effective pixels 32 - 680k effective pixels 42 - 1 Meg effective pixels still imager. what this means is that you might notice a difference in the video but but you're more then likely only going to notice something if you are using the DV camera for shooting stills. also I don't think the HC 21 can shoot stills whereas the 32 and 42 both can. I have an HC 32 and so far I really like it. ScottLivin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...

The111 1 #5 December 13, 2005 QuoteI have an HC90 but I haven't been able to find a helmet to suite where did you find one??? Well obviously with 19 jumps you know not to jump a camera yet, etc etc, obligatory warning. So the answer to your question... the Bonehead TRV 19/22/23 box works for the HC90. I topmounted mine because I don't like how wide it is, but I know a few people that say they've sidemounted it without any problems. bob.dino 1 #6 December 13, 2005 Grab Cameron next time you're at the DZ. He makes FF helmets to which you can later add a camera box. You can pick up a Head Case or Hard Deck, and when you've got a couple of hundred jumps to your name, you can get him to fit a box for your HC90. Another Aussie supplier of damn good helmets & camera boxes is Cookie.
