are you looking to turn off the audio while you record or while you play back the video?


I don;t think you can shut off the microphone while recording but IIRC you can lower the playback sound.


(sorry I dont have my TRV22 with me, its in the shop, but I'm pretty sure you can lower the playback sound)

Yes, you can...through the on-screen menu.

However, I believe popeyefireman is talking about not allowing the camera to turn off automatically (the 3 minutes between stand-by and hitting record). No, there isn't. And actually it isn't good to spin the camera heads for even -that- long.

It has been known by alot of cameraflyers that this stand-by function can strip the tape and put artifacts on the record heads...thus rendering yourself with a minute of the dreaded blue screen when you -thought- the camera was recording your most important jump ever.

I turn my camera (TRV22, 8, 10, etc) to stand-by only when the red light (door!) light of the plane goes on. That's just enough time for the camera to fire-up before climb-out. I hit the record button just before climb-out (or when the previous group is on the "set" of "ready-set-go!").
