OmriMon 0 #1 December 27, 2005 I would like to mount the cameye with just the red button sticking out of the helmet so i wouldn't have to drill such a big hole. What kind of tool is best used to pry it open?
skydog 2 #2 December 27, 2005 I just got a craft knife and cut off the excess I didnt want. This left the base in the bottom plastic and then I had the button free to play with. Only thing og note is that the button is conical, smaller at the tip than at the base. Therefore the hole has to be slightly larger than you imagine or it impedes the movement of the button up and dow. Other than that get a knife and go for it......... BrynJourney not destination..... idrankwhat 0 #5 January 3, 2006 Personally, I had no problem with the large hole. I just drilled a 5/8" (I think) hole, cleaned up the edges and popped the cameye through. The rubber ring gave a great seal, I didn't need to use any adhesive. It looks great and it's probably easier to find when the time comes to turn on the camera. I just put the liner back in the helmet and it was ready to go. Except for the led. I had to put a 3" piece of copper wire on the end to give it some rigidity. Shrink tubing around that worked great. $0.
