nigelh 0 #1 January 5, 2006 Hey, I've just bought an SLR and i'm looking for a Quick Release Bracket. I've heard of the Stroboframe but they're £80 GBP! What would be wrong with the one Jessops do for £10? Seams to be pretty sturdy. Are there any alternatives? Thanks for any help Nigel-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ Sponored by NZ Aerosports, CYPRES 2, Tonfly & L&B Team Dirty Sanchez #

gus 1 #4 January 5, 2006 Nigel I got a brand new stroboframe off eBay for about £35 inc shipping from the states. No drama. GusOutpatientsOnline.com
garywainwright 0 #5 January 5, 2006 Hi Nigel, i would not trust a camera with any significant weight to the Jessops release. Remember you don't have to have a quick release! If you are a very busy cameraman doing back to backs etc then they are worth it. If you just want to take occasional shots you simply don't need one! Tripod bolts and bungee cord work well - especially if your still is top mounted and you can get to everything without removing it. garyhttp://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
oldgit 0 #6 January 6, 2006 Your kit is only as good as the weakest part so it makes no sense spending big money on camera gear to lose it because of some cheap quick release system. Buy the best and hopefully you’ll only have to buy it once.
