Help!! Can't turn off HC20

Recommended Posts

Out of the helmet, if I turn it off manually, ie the switch next to the record button, the camera shuts down but the green camera light flashes intermittently.

In the helmet, if I switch it off with the cam eye II, it shuts down normally then automatically turns itself on again!!

Has anyone experienced this or have any idea why this is happening. The camera is about 18 months old

On most Sony cameras there is a wee reset switch, its a pin hole sized hole that you poke a bent paperclip or similar into.
Try that.
I 'm not that familiar with the HC cams but its got to be worth a dibble....

do this take the battery off and hold the pin hole reset switch for over one minute and then power it back up

also try a new battery i have 3 hc 40 and one of them gets very funny about batteries it powers on and then off its stupid but i can only use a few batteris with it and the official sony batteries dont work i have to get the other batteries the third party or so get a few off ebay

i am telling you these cams are light but can be a pain in the butt

sony needs to have a firmware update package to update all theier issues that are with these cams.
