I just got my copy of iLife '06 a few days ago. Thus far I haven't been able to do anything with it on the video/DVD end but have used the new iPhoto.

I really like the new iPhoto. It has full screen editing with a new compare feature so that you can compare photos side by side, new book templates, new calendar templates, and the ability to create greeting cards and postcards, the ability to hold 250,000 photos (10x increase) and the ability to create "Photocasts" which others can subscribe to.

The new iDVD has wide screen templates and looks a bit different but other than that I haven't had the chance to use it for anything....I guess I'll have to get busy and put together some of my widescreen HC42 video into iMovie and then into iDVD to see how it works. That's going to have to wait until I have time.

I didn't get much of an opportunity to play with iLife while I had my G4...when the MacBook comes in it'll have to get me by until Adobe gets around to releasing CS3... The features do sound pretty good, really looking forward to getting to play with it.

Imovie 06 has some differences. It's cool to see your transition and affects previewed in real time , It has the ability to open multiple windows and move clips from one to the other , The down side is that all of my Gee Three effects and transitions do not work .

we have been using using iMovie HD 6 here for a week now, and have had to go back to iMovie 5 for two reasons.

Firstly the 'Share' feature for exporting a project back to the camera is unuseable. The application shuts down on one guys PB15 and on my IB14 the footage keeps freezing like every 50th frame stalls for a half a second.

BUT the real show stopper is when you have adjusted an Audio Files Sound level, eg faded out a track and then started another track, you get 1 second of that last track played at full level in between the tracks. Not good enough to give to our customers unfortunately.

So we have gone back to iMovie 5 and stuck with iDVD 6 which we havent faulted YET!

Let me know if your experiences are different. Most of the guys I work with use Apple's for the DVD's which we do everyday and they have all had this same problem.
