jdfreefly 1 #1 February 17, 2006 Anyone know if there is a way to get pictures from a canon 20d directly onto an iPod? Methane Freefly - got stink?
The111 1 #2 February 17, 2006 I'd have to guess no. Obviously you know it's possible with a PC as the go-between, and this is one reason I bring my 60GB iPod everywhere with me... it doubles as an external HDD. I don't have a laptop but I can always find somebody who does, and use it to dump pics from my camera (or somebody else's) to my iPod.www.WingsuitPhotos.com
indyz 1 #3 February 17, 2006 You probably want something like this or this. A Google search for "ipod compactflash reader" (without the quotes) turned up a few other possibilities as well.
ltdiver 3 #4 February 17, 2006 uhmm.....see: Apple's iPod-to-Camera Connector. Apple also has a Flash Card to iPod Connector too. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
MB38 0 #5 February 17, 2006 The iPod-to-Camera connecter is exactly what you want.I really don't know what I'm talking about.
PhreeZone 20 #6 February 17, 2006 Is the USB port on the 20D a USB2.0 one? If its a 1.1 like the 10D it wil be MUCH faster to get the memory card reader. Slick devices, its one of the reasons I'm getting an iPod instead of something else.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
indyz 1 #7 February 17, 2006 I believe the Belkin adapter requires an iPod with a firewire port. The video iPods only have USB 2,0, so it might be an issue.
ltdiver 3 #8 February 17, 2006 HERE is a picture of the memory card reader. You're right, it is a Belkin. I had thought it was made by Apple. I had toyed with getting one for one of my road trips, but didn't because I didn't like not being able to view the files on my iPod (3rd Generation). Little did I know that Apple would come out with the iPod that's on the market now! If it plugs into the new iPod I'd get it in an instant! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
murrays 0 #9 February 18, 2006 As Lori mentions above, the Apple Camera Connector will do the trick...Here's the verbiage from Apple Store... Simply plug the iPod Camera Connector into the iPod dock connector, plug your camera's USB cable and watch your images make their way to the iPod, ready to view in a slide show! Compatible with iPod with color display. Requires iPod photo software v1.1 or later. Go to www.apple.com/ipod/download to download the most recent iPod updater software. Compatible with iPod with video. See www.apple.com/support/ipod/photos for supported cameras.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
