scotts 0 #1 March 26, 2006 Anyone have any experience with this model? Picked it up @ Best Buy for $275. Open box. It'll mostly be used for filming landings, crazy antics on no jump days and eventually for helmet mount jumps.
Icon134 0 #2 March 27, 2006 the only problem you might encounter is that it doesn't have a LANC port on it... that is when you start using it for skydiving... you won't be able to use a Cameye with it. scotts 0 #3 March 27, 2006 Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure what I would use for sighting once it's on a helmet, but a paper circle on goggles seems to be enough for intended uses. Scott
The111 1 #4 March 27, 2006 Do you know this to be true for fact? I checked on the Sony page and it says "LANC port: N/A" which isn't quite conclusive, but does not sound optimistic. I fly an HC90 which has a LANC port, as does the new HC96 (according to specs). The HC32 did have one also, so I find it odd that the HC36 would not. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

This is a CamEye... and it can be very useful...Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
Icon134 0 #6 March 27, 2006 Quote Do you know this to be true for fact? No but when I did a "360 view" there wasn't any thing visible... I suppose I could go look for it at my local Best Buy Store... and it sound's like the hc-96 will have one... personally I'm hoping to be able to wait to upgrade for something HD (1080i) to be available...Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... Icon134 0 #7 March 28, 2006 I stopped by Best Buy and none of the Sony Cameras there had LANC ports (HC-26, HC-36, HC-46) The store didn't have an HC-96 that I could inspect. ScottLivin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
scotts 0 #8 March 29, 2006 Gotcha. Guess I'll have to resort to "Is this thing on?"
riggerrob 643 #9 March 29, 2006 QuoteGotcha. Guess I'll have to resort to "Is this thing on?" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> How about the ancient system - that I bought form Hansen more than a decade ago? It has a tiny sensor that I tape to the RECORD light on the front of the camera, a pair of batteries and an LED that I tied to my ring sight. Crude, but it works well.
