ff2 cutaway

Recommended Posts

I've been jumping an ff2 for 2 years now and was thinking of adding my digital rebel camera to my helment. Going to add the ff2 cut-away system. Anybody have any comments on how the cut-away system works? Does the yellow cut-away handle slap your chin on freefall? Does the yellow cut-away handle stay in your hand or stay with the chin cup when you cut-away? Has anyone used it yet? And is it effective? Can anyone post a picture that shows how the yellow cut-away is attatched to the chin cup? Any and all comments are apreciated. Thanks!

It is a two ring cutaway system, much like your three ring system on your main canopy. When you pull the cutaway handle the rings release and the helmet is free from your head.

It does a pretty good job of staying put, but I have had a couple customers say that it does touch their neck when they look down, but it does not flop around.

The cutaway handle stays in your hand, the chin cup stays attached to the helmet via the ratchet on the left side

I have not heard of anyone having to use it yet, but the tests I have done with it on the ground have proved very successful, no problems at all with the release.

If you visit my web page, linked below, there is a photo of the cutaway system (on the 2k page under accessories). It may be kind of hard to see but it is attached with industrial velcro on the bottom side of the chin cup.

Hope this helps...
