Sylvain 0 #3 April 15, 2006 Also check the Back Light mode. Maybe it's ON (should be OFF). -- Sylvain
jmidgley 0 #4 April 15, 2006 Hi I have this camera and a Diamond 0.3 lens. Just to be clear, do you mean that footage is overexposed? I've certainly never had this problem. The exosure can be manually overridden - perhaps someone has been 'playing' and done this? Go into the menu settings and check that exposure is set to auto. ECoastSurfer 0 #5 April 19, 2006 Question for ya....... I'm looking at Sony cams for fun jumps, and the 42 looks like a good one. Whats the deal with the docking station, people are saying stay away from them, and does the 42 have the port for the cameye?? Thanks!
DeepThought 0 #6 April 19, 2006 I have a HC42 and the Cam eye works fine. The issue with the docking station is not a big one. It is one small extra thing to put in you kit bag along with the cable. If you are on a budget, don't let it put you off getting the camera. p.s. to answer the orignal question... I got the Liquid .3 with filter kit, and I am very happy with it. -------------------------------------------------- You only have one life, make the most of it. jmidgley 0 #7 April 20, 2006 Hi You don't need the docking station for analogue video, or for charging. Sockets for both of those are on the camera. You need the docking station for firewire. Regards John
ECoastSurfer 0 #8 April 20, 2006 So for a first camera the HC42 is worth getting, or hold out for Cookie (who's black box I want ) to release the new HC model boxes?
DeepThought 0 #9 April 20, 2006 I have got a HC42 in a Cookie helmet, so there is no waiting for it. The only issue with it is that you have to take the camera out of the helmet to spin the screen round, to allow you to se what you have just filmed. But yet again, it is somthing you can easily live with. -------------------------------------------------- You only have one life, make the most of it. ECoastSurfer 0 #10 April 20, 2006 I just want the box for the HC, guy at my DZ has one mounted on a Optik and it works great for him. The box fits the cam snug with the liquid lens, easy in and out, just tape the top seam and its flush mount. Cookie says the new HC line 26, 36, 46, 96 boxes are available mid-summer I think.
