clint 1 #1 June 6, 2006 I'm looking for a machine that I can just put my dv tape in and I can edit with the machine instead of my camera. The heads in my camera are getting worked! Miami 0 #3 June 6, 2006 This is the unit Strato is referring to. There are few people who are just using a second camera as an editing deck...much less expensive and you have a back-up in case something happens to your jumping camera. Hope this helps...Miami
vdschoor 0 #4 June 6, 2006 I would agree with Miami here.. I thought about a unit like this, but a second camera was way more cost effective and practical. Iwan
weegegirl 2 #5 June 6, 2006 Too expensive. I'm using a second PC110. Makes a nice backup too in case my camera stops working.
dqpacker 7 #6 June 6, 2006 Do the heads last longer on that unit than a camera?
skydiveoc 0 #7 June 7, 2006 Tape motor lasts much longer than a camera's. But with a skydiving camera, the motor is the last to go. josh
BMFin 0 #8 June 7, 2006 Nice thing with such a unit (at least the one that I have used) is that there is a PAL-NTSC switch. So bringing footage in the project taken in other format is easy.
