Sony DVDirect™ MC1 Question

Has anybody tried or have any info on this guy? Looks like it can be a stand alone direct from camcorder so I am guessing able to be used on a linear system. Also looks like with the USB it can be a external burner for Non-linear set ups but added functionality with the direct burn capability..
