I knew someone would bust me for that comment, and meant no disrespect for it. However, you also can't get a union ticket for shooting RW or freefly outside of broadcast or film (Even though they should) Anyone getting paid to shoot anything is a pro, arguably. At the same time, being paid doesn't assure quality, either. I'll be curious to read your opinion of the HyPeye as well. So far, really liking it. I don't use a ring sight most of the time, and like that this can be farther away from my eye and still visible. Quincy 0 #30 November 20, 2006 Read about it... Bought it... Used it... Love it... Had a Cameye II. Jumping out of a Cessna, it got bumped on the door and turned off more than once on exit. Use a Bonehead Optik with a Cookie Composite box, so hitting the record on the camera is not a problem vs. the Cameye II. Really like the Hypeye...!!!... Quincy... klr 0 #32 April 11, 2007 Hi, While we're talking about indicators, I have a cameye already & I'm happy enough with it. I got a new helmet a few weeks ago & I'm not overly keen on drilling a large hole through it for the cameye button or putting it on the inside. I had a look at the LANC specification and thought to myself 'bugger that !' My sony camcorder has a recording indicator on the front, I'm thinking of using a photodiode or phototransistor planced in front of that indicator to power a visible LED on the front of the helmet. The LANC socket has a small ambient voltage that should be enough to power the LED. Has anybody done this before ? Before somebody tells me to 'spend the money & buy a hypeye or cameye' I already have one & I'm only looking for a simple recording on/off indicator. rgds Kieran 'I came into this world kicking and screaming and covered in somebody elses blood, I plan to leave it the same way.'
