is Canon 300D is ok for skydiving?

I know everybody says canon 350d is great but too expensive for me at the moment. I see some 300D in ebay for a good price, this ll be my first still camera, can anyone tell me if it is good. Thank you so much.

overkill really...large heavy body...expensive and defiantley too complicated if this is really your first digital camera ever..

I think the other poster is confusing your inquiry with the 30D which is much more expensive then the 300D (aka Digital Rebel) and a very bulky Camera.

The Original rebel is a perfectly viable option for skydiving and has been used by many a skydiver prior to the popularity of the Rebel XT (350D)

I have just over 17000 shots taken with my 300D. 90% of which are in freefall, or in the plane.

being a nikon shooter, i apologize for my ass-headedness in the world of canon. i shot (and strngely enjoyed) and thought the op was referring to the mark1, 17mpix model.. ill crawl back into my hole now.

I'd try to scrape up the extra couple hundred dollars for the XT if speed is important.

I was getting 12 to 16 shots in freefall with my 300D. With the 350 I usually get 40 or 50.
