Problem with infinity focus on DCR IP5 with new lens

So i got this new royal diamond lens from a friend the other day. I put it on my camera and all the footage is blurred on infinity focus but when i switch it to auto it is very clear. My old lens is clear on infinity setting and auto setting. Any suggestions on fixing this?

the royal lenses I've seen all have that "feature"
Use manual focus with those.. it might even be recommended on their website or manual..
