Is this level of vignetting normal for 2.9mm lens of this bullet cam? See attachments.

Hm.

I think I have it too with 2.9 and 3.6mm lens.
I have not used with skydiving just indoors with TV, I have not noticed any effect like that.

Is thar cam equiped with a sunshade? If so get it replaced with a cover whitout the protruding edge of the sunshade.I think this will solve your problem

This camera is without sunhood.
This vignetting is not visible when connecting camera directly to TV or on the mini dv cam LCD display because TV doesn't display whole picture from camera.
Something like viefinder frame coverage in SLR camera.

NO! send it back, after email or phoning them about the problem, with a kind request to replace it. they did it with my cam. Before I bought it i had an email discussion with them about the possibility of vignetting, and the asured me it would NOT happen. When I received the cam, it showed the vignet, so I asked them what to do, referring to my emails before, and their statement. they asked to send it back, and I received a new one immediatly, without problems.

today I am using a 2.9 and a 3.6 lens, both without problems

I tried with a camera yesterday. I got a some vignetting too.

BTW what camcorder are you using with?
I'm using a Sony HC32E and I can only start recording from PLAY/EDIT mode and menu only . That's difficult and slow .

I have never used these but starting the recording with the remote then sticking it in your jumpsuit might help with the above problem.

I have found the solution, I have to have a Cameye Sport Lanc remote....

yep, that's the trick ;-)
by the way, I am using a sony trv33, and really, the camera should not show any vignetting,

I have my camera back after almost three months. There is still some vignetting especially in top right corner but is much better.
Customer support isn't too good they apologized but repairing took them definetly too long, - beside I've sent camera in the plastic box and with vilcro tape on it and had it back without it.
