arai 0 #1 November 28, 2006 I'm going on a trip down to eloy tomorrow and plan on doing some coach jumps when I'm down there. how do you guys deal with giving the video over to the person your jumping with? I mean I guess you could fork over the tape (lot of wasted space there) or burn a dvd. But do you have a way you prefer? I guess I could bring my old digital camcorder down with me. dragon2 2 #2 November 28, 2006 I for one never give away my tapes. I'm usually pleasantly surprised if someone brings their own camera + firewire cable so then you'd get a DVD. There's a big quality difference between DV and DVD, so sometimes people want to edit their own video they bring a tape + camera or I burn the avi file from my laptop. Some people want a playable DVD with edited video + music so these get a regular DVD. weegegirl 2 #4 December 1, 2006 I'm usually too busy to transfer video in the middle of the day. So if they really want the video I ask them to remember the tape number and time of day and find me in the evening. I usually don't charge someone for burning a dvd for them, but they almost always kick me 5 bucks which is nice for the cost of the dvd and case and time. It's much easier if they have a tape I can firewire to or a vhs tape they use that is cued up. I would never think about giving away a tape. Have fun!! yardhippie 0 #5 December 1, 2006 Im with Weege here. I dont work at the DZ, but when Im there Im going full tilt. Also, Im not a coach, but often times jump with those that as for my help. Plus I almost always wear my camera. so at the end of the day I'll firewire it to ya, if you have it, or if you can find someone that will burn you a dvd w/ my camera thats cool too. But I dont have a linear set-up, so I wont be burnin you a DVD.
