sleddog 0 #1 December 26, 2006 My wife gave me a Canon DC-100 DVR for ChristmasWill this work for shooting occasional video? Or should I return it for something else? I've done a search & have not found anything. Your help / advise would be appreciated. Blue's Jack
Mostly_Harmless 0 #2 December 26, 2006 From what it seems (I am sure I will be corrected if wrong) Sony is the only brand that really last up to the abuse of freefall. You might want to return it and get a Sony._________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
dragon2 2 #3 December 27, 2006 I presume you mean DVD instead of DVR. You CANNOT jump a DVD recorder, regardless of brand. I'd return it and get a Sony miniDV camera if you have any intentions of jumping it. ciel bleu, Saskia
Lastchance 0 #4 December 28, 2006 This may be a stupid question but why can't you jump a DVD recorder. I have considered buying one so now I'm wondering. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

Search the forum....lots of discussion on this. Aside from the fact that the head can't cleanly write, other than XDCAM (and you surely aren't strapping one of those to your head), there is no DVD camcorder that will provide you with great quality. If you're just shooting friends then quality might not matter to you.
