Media folks - how much for the Mt. Hood video feed?

Two weeks ago, a local station had a helicopter up and provided live video of the Chinook helicopter retrieving rescue guys from the summit of Mt. Hood. The video was live and then replayed on CNN, Fox, etc.

How much would the local station get for the video feed? Do they get paid again every time it is shown? What is that kind of thing worth? Just wondering. thanks.

You can have it good, fast, or cheap: pick two.

Price would depend on the importance of the video.

The equivalent of the Zapruder film would be nearly priceless.

The exclusive stinger footage of the hikers (considering this became a national story) I would think would command a fairly high price. Perhaps several thousand dollars. That would be for a "buy-out" price to a specific news organization which would then be able to replay it as often as it liked.

BUT . . . since it was a local station that probably had an agreement with CNN et. al. . . . the station probably got nothing for it at all.
