Cannon 400 - water/damp proof?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Please excuse this novice question.

How damp proof is my new 400d (standard kit lens)?

I was out climbing yesterday and when the sky threatened rain I put my camera away. Sensible or over cautious?

Should I get a neoprene armour case?

Cheers peeps. Oh here's a couple of shots that I took.

I would recommend the zip-lock style underwater camera cover/bag. They are light, compress a little for storage in your bag and will protect the camera during rain or very damp weather.

Like the one in the attachment.

Thanks that looks like just the job - Ta.

thre are some better ones than that, that's not design for a spill, that will only keep light rain off.
there are some underwater camera housings where the camera is totally enclosed (including lens) the have a glove on them to handle the camera EWA makes them
