Hey Kevin,
Tandem videos - I jump mainly a .45 lens. You can get nice face shoots without being as close and it can allow for a little fudging room on the exit. I have been using a .30 for some tandem the last couple of years but you just need to stay that much closer (especially on exit).
Fun and Freeflying - I love the .30 lens. For docked exits and that flying in the formation look the .30 is what you want.
One thing I will recommend is the flat lens (diamond or cookie). I've snagged my larger .45 on a couple of things. Since I moved to the diamond lens I haven't caught anything. Maybe it has been luck but the difference is size is well worth the price.
