jtval 0 #1 February 4, 2007 Question for those who claim their vidiocy on their taxes. how do you catorgorize your equipment? how do you claim your rig/ helmets and other Miscellaneous items. the Digi and video cams are claimed under photograhic equipment but what about sport rigs used for work? I have one that is solely used for work and one that is partially(25%) I purchased the "WORK" rig this year. I purcahsed my fun rig a long time ago. I [purchased my camera helmet 3 years ago but I am only starting to claim the work this year. previous years were "unreportable"My photos My Videos
ltdiver 3 #2 February 4, 2007 I take all my paperwork to my tax accountant and let her figure it out... It's saved me loads of headaches over the years (-and- she'll represent me if I ever get audited PS: Have you seen the new commercial where the couple is 'asking' the box what to do next? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
velocityphoto 0 #3 February 5, 2007 Wouldn't you consider jumps on (any) of your rigs training jumps,or working jumps either one .Should still be a tax deduction wouldn't it ? I know people that write of there fun jumps as training. A friend will bail you out of jail , a REAL friend will be sitting next to you in the cell slapping your hand saying "DUDE THAT WAS AWSUM " ................ jtval 0 #4 February 5, 2007 Lt, I agree but I won't be living in this area for ever. I WILL be moving soon. so in order for em to track down a tax person in (each of the states that I have lived in would be fucking ridiculous. Velocity pilot, Yes It (training jumps) should be accounted for but I am not getting 1099'd this year. I have actually only gotten paid 123.5. and all of the rest were in trade. I don't want to put the DZO though all that since he hasn't paid me. NEXT year though I will act as if I am freelancing. I.E> take a check at the end of each weekend and pay for my fun jumps....It'll be like handing the same fist ful of cash back and forth. My photos My Videos

mbondvegas 0 #9 February 8, 2007 JT-I would discuss this with Simon. I think he is really up on the whole tax deduction thing. I'm an accountant as well...although I really only work on corporate SEC related matters and not taxes...but we can discuss. You should be able to deduct just about everything Skydiving related...- - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
