Supergeil 0 #1 February 4, 2007 Just got my Schumacker quick shoe mount from paragear wanted it because of the low weight instead of the stroboframe and goldmember. And when i got it all mounted on my helmet the hole camera could move 2-3mm from side to side....not good for a still photo Found out that the problem was a little gab between the baseplate and the mountingplate on about ½-1mm. Wrote to paragear and asked if that could be right and the answer was....yes that was normal on all movable release. I put two layers of tape on the base and that fixed the problem, so the permanent solutions is going to be a thigh layer of paint to fill the gab. But I am pretty pissed to pay 95dollar for a precision work that is far from precision in my world!
Zee 0 #2 February 5, 2007 Good reason to get a Stroboframe - works like a charm and it really doesn't weigh that much.... Action©Sports
Dokeman 0 #3 February 5, 2007 try tighting the allen screws that are on the base plate.
pilotdave 0 #4 February 5, 2007 Get it replaced... Mine has a TINY bit of movement, but nothing like what you're talking about. I don't think mine moves enough to make any difference (for skydiving). Dave
Supergeil 0 #5 February 5, 2007 Quotetry tighting the allen screws that are on the base plate. The base plate is rock solid so thats not the problem. It's the gab between base and mounting plate that's allow it to move.

Dave Sounds like I got a monday model Will post Paragear and ask them to replace it and hopefully I can keep it meanwhile so I still can jump.
pilotdave 0 #7 February 5, 2007 I'd recommend returning it altogether and buying another from Miami (http://web.mac.com/miami78/iWeb/Site/Schumacher%20QuickShoe.html). You'll save $20, and he won't tell you it's supposed to do that. Dave
