Superfletch 1 #1 February 26, 2007 WOO HOO... I got my first photo published in Parachutist Magazine for the month of March 2007. It's on page 16, upper left hand corner. Best part is... The photo is of my best friend, Phil. It's the first photo I've ever submitted so I guess I'm 100% for now. :) I know it's not a whole lot but I was pretty excited. I guess I can check that off the list. Next, I need a full pager, then a cover! I guess you can never aim too high. ;) Anyway, I just thought I'd share that. Looks like I'll be buying the this weekend. On a side note, if any of you ever just throw away your parachutists, I'd like to have a couple extra copies so I can give one to Phil. He may be my best friend, but he can't have my copy. Plus, I'd like a copy or two for myself. It's not often you get to celebrate a first. Gary Fletcher 104 State Road BB Urbana, MO 65767 I'd appreciate it. quade 4 #4 February 27, 2007 Pretty much the perfect photo for Parachutist (or any other skydiving magazine). Show a person's face enjoying a skydive. Photo should show what the person is actually doing (tell some sort of simple story; in this case a newbie skydiver's trepidation during exit at a Cessna DZ). Keep the colors simple. Fill the Frame with subject matter. In focus and correctly exposed. Bonus points for getting the photo to ID the location (your DZ should love ya). That photo was a "gimme". The111 1 #5 February 27, 2007 Congrats, and nice shot. Not to steal from your glory, but as you are stoked on getting your best friend published, I am stoked on getting my girlfriend published (same issue, p14). She is of course much more stoked than I am, to see herself in a magazine (for the first time after 5 years in the sport... your friend did not have to wait so long!). (it's a grainy photo because it was very low light and like ISO 800... also note she is NOT wearing a wingsuit).www.WingsuitPhotos.com

howardwhite 6 #7 February 27, 2007 QuoteREALLY?!?!? Sweet! Perhaps I should submit some more photos... hahahaha I got lots of good ones! Well, don't expect to get rich; the check might cover the price of a fun jump. But it is fun to see your stuff in print, and as you are already finding out, the bragging rights are worth something. Long, long ago, USPA used to send out "I contributed to Parachutist" T-shirts to contributors. HW

PhreeZone 20 #10 March 3, 2007 Unless prices have gone up since mine in the same month and the one the month before that.. it might pay for most a hop and pop. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
