fallin 0 #1 March 15, 2007 Hi guys. Ive got a BH Optik Illusion helmet and I need to get a camera box/camera for it. I need some suggestions as to whats the best way to go. The boss wants the camera side mounted and does want the cam itself to be over 750$. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks
fallin 0 #2 March 15, 2007 Further to my last, the camera has to still be in production. Because of my work place nothing can be bought second hand. Thanks
kingbunky 3 #3 March 15, 2007 bonhead (boneheadcomposites.com) would probably be a good place to start looking for the box, and the photography and video forum would be a good place to ask about the camera."Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." Thanks Your choice is limited by the "still in production" criteria HC37 for a current MiniDV camera still in production - for the box, I'd recommend cookie composites. dragon2 2 #5 March 15, 2007 Why didn't you post this in the camera forum? AFAIK there are no good side-mount cams available new right now. Some people do sidemount the newer models (some of the HC-series) but it's a really bad idea IMO they are simply too wide. Best to look for a 2nd hand (eBay etc) PC-series camera for sidemounting. Why are you set on a sidemount anyway? ciel bleu, Saskia

PhreeZone 20 #7 March 15, 2007 Some of the HC series cameras are at the limits of side mounting, but other then that you would have to loo kat the less dependable Casio, Canon or other brand. Issue there is that for the most part there are no boxes for them. If your requirement is to side mount you might be best to get a refurbished PC1000 from Sony but thats about $900.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
