FTP Cutaway

Recommended Posts

Can someone take pictures and show me what a FTP cutaway system looks like around the hinged area? Both outside and inside the helmet. BH doesn't have pictures that I have seen, and I just wanna know what it looks like. Thanks.

*Disclaimer*-I don't own an FTP or have the intention of owning one, and I know I shouldn't be jumping camera right now due to experience, I'm just curious and looking, so please w/ hold the "you're not ready" comments.:S

Are you talking about the cut-away system like they have on the Optik Illusion?

Edited to add photos.

Was this what you were looking for?

No, I thought the hinge on the FTP was modified to cut away. If you look at the Paragear website, the way they describe it is, "The retrofit cutaway system consists of new hardware for your back latch, and a loop cutaway cable." and the picture has the cutaway on the hinge side of the helmet, so I just wanted to see it. I've got the illusion w/ that cutaway you have shown, but thanks man!!

Yes. The hinge is... it's part of the system to relieve the pressure like a 3-ring setup does so that you can cut the helmet away.

Here's a picture of the outside of the hinge on one. The inside doesn't take much to imagine. There's a loop on one side with the yellow cutaway cable running through it and the other side of the loop is knotted. then there's two nuts holding the bolts to the helmet.
