jimmytavino 16 #2 August 2, 2007 yes. i have a tr81 and a tr 500 both are for Hi 8 tapes. both work and both have s video out as well as regular av jacks. I think i have the charger/direct connect parts. so you can run it from an outlet. i also have a Hi 8 rewinder to spare the wear and tear on the camcorder unit, and so you can shuttle your tapes to different points, before putting them in the camcorder... Don't think i'd sell them . but i'll loan/rent them.... or else one of them..... i'll look today, to locate everything... lemme know if you find something, elsewhere i probably can ship within a couple of days jmy
burbleflyer 0 #3 August 15, 2007 Use a Digital8 camera to view them and you can firewire directly from there. Digital8 will play Hi8 tapes. Sony's thinking with that that format I believe, was to get people married to Hi8 tech to switch to DV and still be able to play their Hi8 stuff. riggerrob 643 #4 August 15, 2007 Yes T.K. I have a SONY Hi8 camera, barely used and I might even have an old Hi8 VCR. They are for sale if you are willing to pay slightly more than the cost of shipping them to Florida.
