Stand alone DVD burner / music editor

I'm just getting into filming tandems and I've been doing my video editing on the laptop and using an external drive to burn. It's taking me over an hour by the time I upload a 10 minute video, edit on Sony Vegas, render and burn the DVD.

Any suggestions on hardware that will allow me to firewire the video from the camera to the burner and put music, tittles and slow mos under 30 minutes? I hope it isn't too pricey.

Google around for a Panasonic MX 50/MX30
Edirol has a V4 mixer
Google for video mixer and you'll find many.
DV input is latent, so you'll need/want something with analog ability.
