BenediktDE 2 #1 August 9, 2007 Hi, I use a Sony PC-1000 in a RAWA Helmet and would like to connect a HyPeye to it. The problem I have is that the LAN port of the PC-1000 is on it's right side facing towards the helmet. If I plug in the HyPeye's plug there is no way to close the camera box any more. Is there anyone who uses this combination and could send me pictures on how he solved the problem? For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong. howardwhite 6 #2 August 9, 2007 I have a PC1000 in a similar situation (an inVertigo, not RAWA). I did violence to the helmet, drilling/routing a hole big enough to accommodate the LANC plug. It works, but it's not pretty. HW
RossDagley 0 #3 August 9, 2007 does this help? http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1609363;search_string=pc1000%20cameye;#1609363
BenediktDE 2 #4 August 9, 2007 Yes, it helps to realize there is no easy way and I have to drill the helmet and rasp the plug until it fits. I'll try For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
RossDagley 0 #5 August 9, 2007 hehe yeah. I think thats the case with any LANC mounted on the right of the camera cameras, if that makes sense. Unless of course, the box was mounted on the right of the helmet Shipping to me now is a cookie blackbox on an MXV for a PC1000, so I'll be able to tell you how cookie did it (factory modded) - I'm guessing its gonna be the same "cut a hole in the helmet and box" method... DougH 270 #6 August 9, 2007 It would be nice if one of the indicator light man. made a light in two pieces... so you could drill a smaller hole and then splice, solder, and shrink wrap."The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
RossDagley 0 #7 August 9, 2007 Well, the hyeeye is a lot smaller than the cameye so it's not like you've got a huge hole to cut, but sure, I see what you mean. I'd rather not cut at all of course, but realistically, there's no real downsides. It wont be visible, and if I ever pass on this helmet, it'll be with the box, and the next person will be in the same situation.

I'd take pictures but I don't have the helmet any longer.Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...

bomb420 1 #11 August 10, 2007 The Hypeye Mini is only around 1/4inch wide. None-the-less, if anyone wants to buy the cable and solder it onto the Hypeye directly, we can provide him or her with a kit and instructions. Of course we highly recommend good soldering skills. Just send an email asking for the Pro Installer Kit if you are interested. Thx -TrunkHYPOXIC
