lintern 1 #1 September 12, 2007 I have had my Sony PC105 video camera for about 18 months now and bought it brand new. About a month ago the manual focus button (on the right side of the camera) stopped working. When I press the button nothing happens. Very occasionally it works again for a short time, but then it stops working. Has anyone else ever had this problem ?
TALONSKY 0 #2 September 12, 2007 I did come across this problem on mine awhile back. I started accessing the function through the menu structor on the lcd screen. At this moment my button has started working again. Kirk

lintern 1 #5 September 13, 2007 thanks mrwrong but the manual only talks about the manual focus button being on the side, not via the LCD touch screen. seems you cant activate the manual focus via the lcd touch screen ???
adamT 0 #6 September 13, 2007 The 4 105s i have owned do not have a way to set the focus via the menu. I have had one with the same malfunction, if you are comfortable taking apart small electronic devices you can pull it apart and reseat the button, i remember that helping mine. adam
980 0 #7 September 17, 2007 the way around that is to use the 'spot-focus' feature in the menus you then touch the spot on the screen that corresponds to where you want to focus and it will autofocus on that spot
Squeak 17 #8 September 17, 2007 Quotethe way around that is to use the 'spot-focus' feature in the menus you then touch the spot on the screen that corresponds to where you want to focus and it will autofocus on that spot the problem with that is "the SPOT" moves. With Manual focus you set the Cam up for essentially Hyperfocal wich focuses from close up to infinity. Spot focus does not do that. You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing?
