cookie .3lens filter problem

I have a cookie .3 lens with a filter mounted on the front.
The problem is that the lens picks up the ring of the filter so i have to zoom in the camera to fix this problem.
I am mounting the lens on a HC47E, is it my camera or dose this happen on other cameras, If so what is the fix.
Can anyone help.
