Superfletch 1 #4 October 10, 2007 I am using iMovie HD 6.0.4 on a Macbook Pro 2.4 Ghz 2GB RAM and I output to iDVD which makes a great little DVD on standard DVD-R discs. I'm burning with the built in superdrive. Works great! Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
PharmerPhil 0 #5 October 10, 2007 If you wanna burn HD videos, you need a Blue-ray or HDVD burner (and burning software, iMovie does HD, but iDVD doesn't do HD...yet). Standard DVDs are only good for...standard def DVDs. Not HD.
stratostar 5 #6 October 10, 2007 Quote I have an hc1 sony on the way tomorrow from ebay You suck! Oh I'm still using SD cams, but using imovie HD and regular disks, while the disk may not be true HD, it is noticable between the older disks edited in regular imovie. DSE 5 #7 October 10, 2007 You can burn HD DVD to what is called "3X," and it will play on an HD DVD player. These are standard DVDs, but use different data code. So yes Virginia...there is "sorta" a Santa Claus, you can burn 3X content on a standard DVD and play it back on an HD DVD player. Or, you can buy Ulead Movie Factory Plus and burn HD DVD or Blu-Ray content on a BD disc or HD DVD disc. the software is 99.00, but it won't run on your Mac.
