RkyMtnHigh 0 #1 November 6, 2007 After watching a lot of camera flyers exits and videos, NOW I understand the benefits of being able to sitfly or fly head down on the exit to capture the great tandem exit shot... _________________________________________

Fast 0 #4 November 6, 2007 QuoteAfter watching a lot of camera flyers exits and videos, NOW I understand the benefits of being able to sitfly or fly head down on the exit to capture the great tandem exit shot... Until the drogue comes out, a tandem right off the plane is accelerating at freeflying rates. I dunno what exactly I do anymore I just kinda do it.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. matt3sa 0 #5 November 11, 2007 You're definately right about that. I fly Video for a C-182 dropzone. I hang off of the strut on the prop side (facing the tail) and then back fly until the tandem is perfectly head down and then I roll from the back position into a very brief headdown as the drogue is pitched. After drogue deployment I return to my back and perform a half barrel roll. It's cool because as you come off of the step (when timed right) you actually fly feet first on your back and go under the tandem as they're entering the vertical phase. RkyMtnHigh 0 #6 November 11, 2007 With that you get some great shots of the plane in the background as well _________________________________________

RkyMtnHigh 0 #8 November 11, 2007 Quote That's right. Good call. That's a GREAT shot for video AND stills to have the plane behind the tandem...or IMO, better yet, to have a shot of the plane diving down in the background. _________________________________________
matt3sa 0 #9 November 11, 2007 The only time I ever got the plane to dive was when I exited Skydive Hawaii's Caravan in a sit fly- no tandem. Our Cesna pilot is this old priest guy! He owns the plane and we pay him per load. We don't get a whole lot of dive out of a C-182Matt **Attached the Hawaii Caravan dive pic.
RkyMtnHigh 0 #10 November 11, 2007 Good pic. Being in Hawaii, did you meet Peter Konrad? I heard that him and a few others from MileHi in Colorado went out there... _________________________________________
matt3sa 0 #11 November 11, 2007 No, I didn't really meet a lot of people there. The dropzones there are all just tandem factorys. They don't really care about fun jumpers. They always try to be done by noon so that they can go home.
