HDR-HC5 or 7

Does anyone know the difference between the
HDR-HC 5 and the 7, I was told to get the 7 but Jeff's heard that 7 doesn't have the image stabilization but the 5 does,

C'mon Tony, ask me or Scotty and we'll tell you why we both have HC5's... many jumpers have reported problems with HC7 due to optical image stabilization.

You can do that maybe with either HC5 or CX7 (not sure of exact pixel count) but it still won't look as good as a picture from a real SLR camera.

Post #27 in this thread has a BASE screengrab taken from the CX7, it looks pretty good.

Overall I think the HC5 will be slightly better video quality than the CX7.

HC5=2.3MP

The HC5 will provide a more saturated screengrab than the CX7, but the CX7 will be a more clean screengrab, simply by nature of the DSP.
Somewhere in this thread/forum, I've posted screen grabs as well as my review of the camcorder.
