DSE 5 #1 January 6, 2008 On the ground. Not air to ground. From Panasonic OK, this is a little expensive, but...this technology will trickle down very soon. Nice way to send from video room to hangar/manifest, or to put a display anywhere you want.
champu 1 #3 January 8, 2008 V-band is tricky to use terrestrially, but I like their approach. It would be interesting to see demonstrations of how well their beam steering technology handles cluttered and/or dynamic environments like those found at a dropzone. DSE 5 #4 January 8, 2008 Their demo here at the show is pretty impressive. Honestly, having used UHF at the LVCC in the past...if they can make it work here, they can make it work virtually anywhere. This place is a nightmare for any signal. Steel, concrete, high voltage, tradeshow booths made from every material conceiveable...But it's still just a demo. I hope to see it in real-world use very soon.
