baseknut 0 #1 February 5, 2008 I just sent my sony pc in to the factory for a CCD repair. As there was a defect for that model at the time of manufacture I am sure there has been threads on this before...but i have a specific question. Once repaired and refurbished, is the defect still prone to break again?Step into my (sub)terminal Playground
DSE 5 #2 February 5, 2008 *generally* it's less likely to break again, but kinda like the ripple effect, fixing one thing can break another. Hopefully they'll do a full spec-check to be sure that all aspects of the camcorder make it to full spec. Did it go to Austin or San Diego?
winterdragon 0 #3 February 5, 2008 I had to send back my TRV-33 for the CCD 2 years ago and has been working like a champ since have had no problems. It has lasted two years of jumping, vacations, and anything else I have put it through. Mine went to San Diego and they seemed to do a good job. The only problem (and it was my own stupid mistake.) was that I forgot to take my memory card out of the slot, they said to not send anything but the camera so my fault. Never used it anyways.
