Unparagoned 0 #1 February 6, 2008 I was wondering what does the slow motion footage of skydiving look like. When trying it on the ground the quality looks very crap. I was wondering if it looked any better in the air,(more light¿). I plan on trying to film someone opening. I've tried looking and asking but can't find any footage. Is it just going to be a wasted jump?
DSE 5 #2 February 6, 2008 Are you sure it's the camera, not the subject? It'll always "look like crap" if you're trying for HD, due to the resolution being dropped by as much as 75% depending on the speed. Step up to the HVX200 or better still, the Sony EX1 if you need high resolution overcrank. You might try it with someone opening, it'll take good timing on your part to start it, but yes, it'll be pixilated. Using a time resample like Twixtor, or using some of my slow motion tricks in Sony Vegas will do a reasonable job in HD.
