RB_Hammer 0 #1 February 22, 2008 I have seen this camera used by one person, but did not get a chance to talk to him. Has anyone ever used one?"I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
DSE 5 #2 February 22, 2008 Haven't used one, and can't really see how it's of use in freefall. Put into auto mode, it's shooting one frame a second, or 60 frames a minute at 1.5MP stored, although it has a 3MP sensor. No remote control. The mounting system looks like a very scary snag point, but if you were to build a mount that would accept it and protect it, it might work for casual shots between friends, but to use it for anything outside of that...my cell phone takes higher quality pix. Could be a fun thing though, if you're just looking for something cheap, and aren't looking for quality images. They're probably OK for the web, so long as they're small. jimmytavino 16 #3 February 22, 2008 wow i hope the person you saw using it,,, wasn't skydiving with it... ok.. maybe the top mount, but absolutely NOT the side mount... i don't use ebay much, except for once in a while "perusing"... but it seems that any one can say anything..... Is there no quality control, or it is strictly Buyer beware.??? For a person to advertise THAT arrangement as a skydiving camera, is "wuffo- wishing", at it's finest.....and maybe even a legal liability.I'll leave the technical analysis to those more qualified. It might work for some things,,, but looks snaggable as hell to me, for use in skydiving... Maybe you could ski with it...maybe... jmy

At Eloy on Saturday, 02/09/2008, and he was using the top mount. Looked pretty snaggy to me as well. I am not quite ready to strap a camera on yet, but when I do, I would prefer to have something small and not really have a huge heavy helmet."I'm not lost. jimmytavino 16 #6 February 22, 2008 hmmm ... interesting... well I suppose that good body position at deployment, might lessen the chance of an issue. IF something DID catch, it looks like the camera or the mount would just break..... not sure of the effect of that on the canopy,,, but better to let someone Else, "test jump it" ..safety first, and what the hell, safety second as well... j a 3914 d 12122
