Iceburner 0 #1 February 29, 2008 so i finally got my hc 5 but have been waiting on the helmet....so i figured i'd ask while i'm waiting.... from those of you that jump or have jumped a hc 5 sidemounted (i'm getting a FF3) what problems/differences have you noticed from a past setup....i use an optick illusion now with a pc109 sidemounted....so i'm guessing the weighting will be noticable, but yea...anything you all can offer i'd like to hear. PM or reply to this.
dragon2 2 #2 February 29, 2008 I jump my hc5 topmount, imo the only position it should be jumped in.... It's quite wide, the pc109 is one of the least wide, slight difference there also for hdv quality you want a big ass lens (raynox hd3030), another hazard when jumping a sidemount ciel bleu, Saskia

Like Dragon2 said, combining it with a HD wideangle is something you don't really want on the side of your head, its too wide...Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
AS1 0 #4 March 13, 2008 I've done about 50 or so jumps with an HC5 sidemounted in an FF3. I've measured the difference between the FF3 and FF2. It's 12mm wider. I'm not pretending to be anything of an expert with so few camera jumps but I haven't had a problem with width or weight at all. People will automatically favour the set up they spent their hard earned cash on and I'm no different. But the FF3 sidemount HC5 solution works fine. Of course something else may work better in some peoples opinion but this set up is perfectly workable.

JohnnyZ 0 #6 March 13, 2008 I love the new FF3. I only need to use a still camera some of the time, so this helmet is ideal for me. I'm using an HC5 with Raynox lenses. The lens is obviously big, but it doesn't stick out past the box.
