davidfreefly 0 #1 March 28, 2008 Hi there, I have just bought a new miniDV camera for filming AFF (instructor helmet) A JVC camera (a very good deal, only 150 €) not the best option for commercial videos such as tandems, but a perfect tool for AFF training. Camcorder´s thread size is 27 mm so here is the problem!! Im gonna buy a second hand 0.3diamond 37mm, so i need a step ting!! Do you think it would work properly?? Focusing problems? Vigneting? Any tip guys?? Cheers! ________________________ DAVID DOVAL www.paracaidismogalicia.com
DSE 5 #2 March 28, 2008 As long as the JVC has manual focus, you'll be just fine. Your image might be a little soft, because your camera at wide may not reach the edges of the "cone" or where the glass is fully resolved, but for AFF, it will be just fine. You won't see vignetting, or shouldn't. At that large of a step-up, it's possible the JVC is wide enough to catch it, but I doubt it.
