dangerlaef 0 #1 April 30, 2008 Oregon Scientific's atc2k "ActionCam." Could it be any use in freefall? 1 hour recording of 640x480 @ 30fps onto a 2gb flash card. & waterproof to boot. I don't know if it'll take a wide angle lens, or if the pictures are actually look any good. Anyone tried one? http://www.atc2k.com/Pandemonium on Youtube
DSE 5 #2 April 30, 2008 Just another version of the other low-bitrate, small-sensor cams. I have one. It's a POS, IMO, but I'm a snob. The quality you see on their website is pretty much the quality it outputs, even though the web is highly compressed. For screwing around with friends and shooting for nothing that matters, it's a good value. If you plan on making a DVD with it....it's filled with macro blocking and won't look half good on any monitor larger than 20". Nice for web-based delivery. The macroblocking you see in this stream is what the camera delivers. They're not compression artifacts from YouTube. If they dont' bother you, the only other aspect (IMO) is that it's a nasty snag-hazard.
Zee 0 #3 April 30, 2008 I have one and it's not very good. I usually mount it on my motorycle when I'm on the track just for shits and giggles but both the picture and sound quality are crap. Action©Sports
