Vlad 0 #1 May 24, 2008 Has anyone used the new Canon HF-10 for skydiving ? How is it compared to Sony Hdr-cx7 ?
dragon2 2 #2 May 24, 2008 It's not a sony. It's a canon. Most canon video cameras don't hold up too well to skydiving. It's not a sony. Did you try a search? ciel bleu, Saskia
Vlad 0 #3 May 24, 2008 Search has returned no entries for "HF". So, I'm confused. Have to make a decision - Canon vs.Sony - in 24 hours.

haze2 0 #5 May 25, 2008 I have been writing to a guy on this forum that is using the HF10 for base jumping and he loves the camcorder. He says he has had great results so far. I just purchased the HF10 last week, but I haven't jumped it. I'm on vacation in Spain and so far the results of my vacation video is amazing. I love this camera. peggs82 0 #6 May 25, 2008 In the skydiving environment I would buy a USED sony over a new anything else Not that I do not like many of these other camcorders for everyday use...its just that Sony's use and durablitity has been proven over hundreds of thousands of skydives. Its reputation alone removes the "is this going to work?" question from my mind. Buy a CX-

DSE 5 #8 May 25, 2008 HF10 is a decent lil' camcorder. Records to SDHC cards, has a higher bitrate than the Sony. Cheaply made, IMO, and no possibility of any kind of remote control via cable ie; LANC or other controller...but if these issues don't bother you, go for it. There is a reason that the Sony products are favored for *all* action sports. They hold up.
