weegegirl 2 #1 May 27, 2008 I've lost my nice camera screw for my pc110. I've had it for so long I can't remember where I got it or what size it was. Can anyone help me out and point me toward a replacement? Thanks.
Icon134 0 #2 May 27, 2008 how do you have it mounted? The really right stuff site has some nice hardware for camera mounting... but you might be able to survive with something as simple as a 1/4" diameter screw... which is the typical U. S. camera mounting thread.Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
weegegirl 2 #3 May 27, 2008 It's side-mounted with an L bracket. I had one of those screws with the big black plastic knob. It just made it easier to deal with when you have gloves on or are in a rush. But I think you are right with the 1/4" screw. I guess I'll just go by the hardware store. But if anyone knows where to get one of those black knobby deals, let me know!!
PhreeZone 20 #4 May 27, 2008 Skydance Photo had them, I picked one up at WFFC the other year. I switched to quick release plates and gave all my screws away.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

The111 1 #7 May 27, 2008 A quarter inch screw with a thumbcap on the end? Go to Ace Hardware, or any other decent hardware store. Bring your camera to make sure you get the right one.www.WingsuitPhotos.com
jimmytavino 16 #8 May 27, 2008 the thread is "quarter-twenty"... jt
The111 1 #9 May 27, 2008 Quotethe thread is "quarter-twenty"... jt Yes, 1/4" OD and 20 tpi. The depth of the threaded holes on cameras can be problematic too. They're usually fairly shallow which makes length of the selected screw critical. Too long, and you won't be able to get a clamp on your hardware. Too short and you won't have any engagement. At best you'll get 2-3 threads engaged if you're lucky, but with such a large coarse thread and a small load, it's fine. On my CCM plates I had to grind my countersunk screws down to just the right length.www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Skydivesg 7 #12 May 31, 2008 I went to True Value and bought a hex head screw that is 1/2 inch long (thread distance). I also bought a black plastic knob that the hex head fits into very tightly. The knob is 1/3 inch thick by just under 1 1/2 inch across with scallops around the outside edge. It works pefectly and is very easy to get a grip even when I wear thick gloves. I made three of them for less than $7.00 total.Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

Buying it anywhere else is like buying Dytter batteries in a gear store... overpriced by like 4 times at least.www.WingsuitPhotos.com
mr2mk1g 10 #14 June 2, 2008 You can always buy one of those crappy "table top" camera tripods for 2.99 and smash it with a hammer. Did that yesterday - worked a treat. (there's a camera screw inside the plastic body in case it wasn't obvious)
