swoop2471 0 #1 June 3, 2008 what is the best still camera that is bite switch ready..? and affordable too....
pilotdave 0 #2 June 3, 2008 Don't ya think that's gonna depend on how much money you have? Most people will answer canon rebel xt/xti. Snobbier people will answer 30D/40D. And the really really snobby people will say nikon D80 (or whatever they have now). Dave
swoop2471 0 #3 June 3, 2008 do all those have the port ready for bite switch..? was thinking in the range of $5oo to $1k...
pilotdave 0 #4 June 3, 2008 Just get a rebel XT or XTi (or the new XSi). Really can't go wrong. The rebel series is just going to be the easiest to deal with. Also the smallest and lightest. There are off the shelf switches available for the 30D/40D too, but they are less common (doubt you'll find them at the neighborhood gear store). Not sure what Nikon people use... might take some soldering? Dave
swoop2471 0 #5 June 3, 2008 so the rebel has the port (2.5mm) ready for the bite switch...?
Icon134 0 #6 June 3, 2008 Quoteso the rebel has the port (2.5mm) ready for the bite switch...?yes all three of the Canon Rebel series he mentioned have a 2.5mm shutter release plug... I also have a film based Rebel Ti (or something similar) that uses the same 2.5mm plug. The pro level cameras (10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 5D) use a different type of plug but I believe the protocols are more or less the same...Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
