GravityGirl 0 #1 June 24, 2008 Anyone have any experience with the Rebel T2 in freefall? Any issues? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
PharmerPhil 0 #2 June 25, 2008 Do you mean the 35mm film camera? If so, it works great. One of our videots uses it daily. Then again, most film camera SLRs work well if they have a remote release (which the T2 does).
GravityGirl 0 #3 June 25, 2008 One of our video guys had two Rebel T2s fail back to back. He thought one was broken because it would shut off in freefall, so he got a replacement and it did the same thing. Thoughts? Advise? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! PharmerPhil 0 #4 June 25, 2008 Dumb luck? I really don't know. But the cheaper film cameras are more mechanical devices than electronic (i.e. they don't "time out" the way digital cameras do). I can't imagine how they could possibly turn off in freefall unless either something hit the switch or the battery went dead.
adamT 0 #5 June 25, 2008 Is he using the same lens with both bodies. Failing lens can cause all kinds of weird stuff to happen. adam
velvetjo 0 #6 June 26, 2008 I used a Rebel T2 for about a season and a half before switching to digital with no problems. Nice camera, overall. Great shots and relatively inexpensive. I kept it in case I ever have a need to shoot film, since it swaps very easily with my Rebel XTi. Not sure what to make of the problem your friend is experiencing. AF even seemed to work well in freefall on this model. Lance
