texmex 0 #1 July 9, 2008 I have a few USB bite switches if anyone needs one. I am assuming thats why no one jumps the Olympus Evolt cameras? Anyhow, they will work with just about any digital SLR that has a USB port.
psw097 0 #2 July 9, 2008 I spliced in a mini plug into my Olympus wired release so I can use my Canon or Olympus cameras with my existing tongue switch and still use the wired remote for normal photography. It was a pretty simple soldering job. The E-4xx takes a lot of weight off the head.
ORANGENBLUE 0 #3 July 10, 2008 How do i get one? I have an Olympus E500 and have trying to figure out a way to use it!
psw097 0 #4 July 10, 2008 I don't think the E-500 has wired capability - You might want to double check. The E-510 does but I think it was a new feature for the 510.
ORANGENBLUE 0 #5 July 10, 2008 it has a USB port, but the only remote activation that i have found is an IR remote. Is it possible to control the shutter with the USB?
psw097 0 #6 July 11, 2008 The E-410/E-510 have the wired remote as part of the USB/video port - the port does all three. The E-500 has the USB/video port only - at least according to dpreview. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/olympuse510/
texmex 0 #7 July 11, 2008 Yes, pretty much any camera, including the E-4xx and E5xx have shutter capabilities through the USB port as well as the IR port.
