quick disconnect for HypEye D Pro

Recommended Posts

I'm running a GetHypoxic HypEye D Pro through a TonFly helmet with detachable camera box (via ZKulls). To avoid having to thread the AV/D connector out through a hole each time I take it off, is there a way of cutting the cable and putting on some type of connectors. For reference, the cable is going to a Sony CX6 and I'm not using the optional debrief cable.

If you used a short male to female cable it would be cleaner than cutting the cable on your highly recommended HypEye D Pro.

However, I wonder if you leave an AV/D connector in the camera if you'll be able to use it like you want to. Without the optional debrief cable, I have to disconnect my HypEye D Pro in order to play what I've recorded. Would a cable plugged into the camera but not connected to anything disable playback or is it the HypEye D Pro plugged in that does it?

My thoughts are this: remove the D connector similar to that explained in the expansion kit instructions. Fish the D connector cable through a tight grommet/hole and reconnect to the HYPEYE D PRO that is mounted on the inside. When you are not using your camera, push the exess cable back into the helmet. I got pics from tonfly where they fished it through the center of the zhulls connector, but that may take a little more tinkering.

You can still playback with or without the debrief cable plugged in. Just double click the push button to toggle through the modes.

Yes, yes, I have to make a quick reference guide since lots of people do not realize that and the instructions is slightly overwhelming. B|

Thanks guys. I was going to put the button on the helmet (drill larger hole in ZKull to box) and the AV/D connector would live under the black plastic cap from TonFly when the cambox was removed. However, the pics of putting the button on the box and just fishing the LED cable in/out when needed seems better and I don’t have to drill my helmet.
