DSE 5 #2 August 14, 2008 I use all 8 GB, and XP sees all 8GB. Not sure why you're only seeing 4?? Is it breaking it into 4GB partitions/folders? It should be.
Trevor 0 #3 August 14, 2008 The max file size for FAT 32 is 4GB. NTFS is limited only by the size of the memory stick. That being said, I'm not sure how my 8GB stick is formatted (I'll check this afternoon) but I don't plug my stick into a card reader; I leave the stick on the camera and transfer the files over usb via the 'Handycam Motion Picture Browser Utility' that came with the cam. I know for a fact I can record 65 mins straight of HD XP in one file and transfer the whole file to WinXP.
TonyJ 0 #4 August 14, 2008 if you could check and see if it is formatted in ntfs, that would be helpful... i cannot get it to give the option to format it in ntfs... even after doing the online tutorials...thanks tony
TonyJ 0 #5 August 15, 2008 well i have found the problem, again its my dell monitor card slot.... i went into info on the cx7 and it said 4 gigs.... reformatted in in the camera and it said 8 gigs... put it in the card slot of my monitor and it says " not formatted" after many hours of searching i found this on wiki web site... Note: the card reader on this monitor does not support Sony Memory Stick Pro or Pro Duo cards without the use of an adaptor (Sony 8Gb memory sticks duo are not recognized). SDHC is not supported. Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dell_2407WFP" used another card reader and it sees all 8 gigs... thaks for all the help...tony
